ilFornino® Roma Series – Grande Stainless Steel Wood Burning Pizza Oven Counter Top

The Roma Grande 28" x 28" Cooking Area is one of the premium outdoor countertop pizza oven manufactured by ilFornino New York. It is made from 14-gauge, stainless steel with an outer dome that is powder coated (color options Black or Red) to fit any décor.   The flawless, straight continuous welding highlights the excellent workmanship. The Double Steel Dome houses 6 inches of Ceramic Fiber Blanket Insulation for maximum heat retention, while keeping the outer oven cool to the touch.

The Roma Series come standard with a passive directional venting system that directs the heat in the oven to maximize efficiency. This unique design allows the exhaust to escape through the front mounted chimney only after the hot air had traveled to the back of the oven and then forward inside a second chamber. This insures faster and more efficient heating with greater heat retention within the oven structure. On average, this oven takes 25-30 minutes to heat up. Once heated, you can cook a pizza in 90 seconds. Its thermal mass can retain heat at 750+ °F, and stay hot for up to eight hours by adjusting the rotating chimney damper. This creates the perfect environment for baking breads, bagels, pies, cookies, and anything that requires steady floor heat.

The ilFornino® One Flat Cooking Surface™ that guarantees an even heat distribution and retention as well as a continuous surface for placing and moving items around the oven floor without hanging up on unexpected edges. A flat surface is also insures complete cleaning of the oven floor. The dome mounted 900°F Thermometer lets you know the retained thermal mass temperature of the oven, even if the door is removed.

ilFornino® Roma Grande Outdoor Countertop Pizza Oven arrives ready to use, as it requires no initial break-in period.  It is made to fit on top of an outdoor kitchen mantel by using the 4 provided removable carry handles. The 784 square inch cooking area is large enough to fit 4 10” Pies.  Thermal mass is about 8-10 Hours for superior heat retention. It includes 4 carrying handles, and the user Manual. ilFornino® Wood Fired Pizza Oven is proudly assembled from local materials in Valley Cottage, New York.

  • Great Oven 5

Posted by AJ on 11th Apr 2022

I've had the Roma Grande for just over a year now, and I feel like I'm to the point where I know it about as well as I will. It's been a great addition to our back yard and it cooks a great pie. In the first year, we've gone through two 55lb bags of flour, so it's seen a fair bit of use. I can get the floor up to 750F in about 35-45 minutes depending how quickly the fire takes off. This oven is deep, so there's plenty of room to cook two good sized pizzas at once. If you have a couple people making pizzas, one person can tend it and get them in and out in a couple minutes if you keep the fire raging. I can fire-roast peppers for the pizzas in about 10 minutes while it's heating up. It does a great job with breads, I commonly cook them after we're done with pizzas. Just be sure to let the floor cool down before you put them on. It holds heat well, with just a bed of coals and a little work on the damper, I've been able to keep it where it needs to be to do a good sized ham. Roast chicken is amazing; about the only thing we haven't done yet is the Thanksgiving turkey. Maybe this year. The only consideration I'd give is to the size smaller than this one. If only one person will be making the pies and cooking them, there's really no reason for the extra depth of this oven. If you'll be doing one pizza at a time, you just don't need this much space. I cannot properly utilize it unless I have someone helping to keep the pies coming. The other benefit to the smaller oven is that it would, presumably use less wood to fire. Not a big issue for me because I cut my own, but if you're buying wood, it could be a consideration. Overall very, very happy with this quality oven!

  • Amazing made in the USA product and outstanding customer service 5

Posted by Terri H on 17th Aug 2020

We purchased the Roma Grande pizza oven. We are extremely happy with both the product and the customer service. The entire process from answering questions before our purchase to the communication after ordering through deliver was outstanding. Not to mention the bonus that we were able to purchase a product made in the USA. We used our oven for the first time this weekend. We started by using premade dough from our local pizzeria. We had success from the first pie. We also made a small batch of pizza topped zucchini bites in a case iron skillet. They turned out amazing as well. We had so much fun cooking in the oven we made more the next day using fresh dough. We quickly learned the importance of using cornmeal on the peel. Other than being a little misshaped from sticking to the peel it was better than the first day. Can’t wait to fire it up again to try some other foods such as steak and fish. As much as we love the wood fired pizza our waistlines can only handle so much of a good thing :-)

  • Love it! It works great and looks nice 5

We read all the how-to videos and fired it up; the result was outstanding. Literally the pizzas we ate in Rome and Naples. It was fun and not hard at all to get the fire going and the oven hot. Cooked the pies in 90-seconds at 750 Fahrenheit. Definitely recommend this.
