Imagine lounging in your backyard surrounded by friends, drinking wine, and breathing in the scent of homemade pizzas baking in a traditional ilFornino® Wood Fired Pizza Oven. Today we bring you a quick recipe for making a Wood-Fired Pepperoni Pizza, or as our friends from Hott Carl's Pizza call it “ Roni Danza,” using the ilFornino Professional Plus Oven.
First, a quick overview about the Professional Plus Oven: it offers a comfortable height adjustable height cart which makes pizza-making a breeze. If you are a tall chef, this oven is perfect for you!
Ingredients:
- 200 grams pizza dough
- ¼ cup pizza sauce
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Sliced pepperoni
Directions:
- Prepare the Oven: Preheat the oven to 400-500°F.
- Stretch the Dough: Add some flour to your hands and cooking surface then stretch and shape the pizza into an 8-inch circular pie.
- Add the Pizza Sauce: Spread the pizza sauce on the dough using a spoon. Add as much or as little sauce as you want.
- Add the Toppings: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese onto the sauce. Remember, less cheese goes a long way! Then, place the pepperoni slices on the cheese. Grate some fresh Parmesan and add a hint of oregano to give your pizza extra flavor!
- Cook in the Oven: Using a pizza paddle, insert the pizza into the oven for two minutes. Occasionally rotate it with a pizza wheel to cook it thoroughly.
- Take Out & Cool: Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Once the pizza has cooled off, feel free to enjoy. As an optional step, add extra Parmesan for more cheesy goodness or some red pepper flakes for a spicy kick!
