How to Bake Seafood in Wood Fired Oven!

Yeah, pizza is pretty great, but have you ever baked seafood in a wood-fired oven? Our seafood bake recipe will get heads turning and mouths watering from how simply delicious it is. Grab some seafood and let’s get started!
Ingredients:
Seafood:
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound scallops
- 1 pound white fish filets, cut into chunks
- Optional: 1 cup mussels or clams
Sauce:
- 1-2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Juice from 1 lemon
- Optional: 1/2 cup white wine or broth
Herbs & Seasoning:
- Fresh basil or parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Red pepper flakes, thyme, or oregano
Directions:
1. Prepare the Oven: Start your wood fire and preheat the oven to 400-500°F.
2. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the seafood. In another bowl, combine the marinara sauce with olive oil, lemon juice, and any additional seasonings you like.
3. Assemble the Bake: In a large baking dish or cast-iron skillet, layer the seafood evenly. Pour the sauce mixture over the seafood and make sure everything is evenly coated.
4. Bake in the Oven: Place the baking dish in the wood-fired oven. Bake for 20-30 minutes, gently stirring halfway through, until the seafood is cooked through. Look for pink shrimp, firm scallops, and flaky fish.
5. Check for Doneness: Make sure all seafood reaches an internal temperature of 145°F. Mussels or clams should be open when finished cooking; discard any that remain closed.
6. Finishing Touches: Once done, remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh basil or parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice.
7. Serve: Serve the seafood bake with crusty bread for dipping or over pasta to soak up the marinara sauce.
